Started in late 2003 & early 2004. Shah, ex-Narsamum guitarist thinking of putting up a band who plays grindcore such as early Napalm Death, early Terrorizer and alike. Previously known as Carneous and they've played few shows and only in JB which were done by Muzik Box Productions owned by Fadzil. Started with Shah / guitars - ex Narsamum (death metal) / Carneous (grindcore), Jazs / guitars - guitarist for Torture Incident (grind noise), Deck bass / vocals - drummer for Torture Incident (grind noise), Haider / vocals - vocals for XS Denied (Metal) and Kia / drums - drummer for Mass Separation (thrash grindcore), Banzai 606 (fastcore). After a few tight practice sessions, Haider, Jasz and Deck quit due to their commitments to family and bands, we decided to pick up Adik on bass and Dini on vocals. From this line up, we've recorded 8 songs for our first debut album called 'Screams Of Terror'.. which including 2 TERRORIZER cover songs.. Our first show was Xtreme Assault Festival 2004 organized by Symphonic Blast Production (collaborated with No Action Taken Records / KL and Grundar Productions / JB) featuring underground extreme bands e.g. Demisor, Aghast, Anguish, Argon, SpermBlast, Tools of the Trade, Psychotic Sufferance, Heterodox, Varicose Vein and Mortuary Ancestor (few bands e.g. Unveiled, Sickness, Bilharzia pull themselves out due to changes of date and venue). Dini pulled himself out due to uninteresting reasons.. so we decided to hook up with A.P. from Spermblast (ex Break The Silence guitarist / vocalist), to replace Dini on vocals as a sessionist.. and the rest is history!!!

Back in 1989 in Kuala Terengganu, Modar was first incarnation with the lineup of Lan (Bass/Vocals), Tok Ari (Lead Guitar), Bujor (Guitar) and Nusi (Drums). During that time, there were no gigs in town, only pop stuffs were buzzing around, the jamming studio was the closest to a concert. So, most of the guys and their fans cramped themselves into the small room in order to listen to their stuff. Around December 1990, Modar lost their original guitarist, Bujor and they acquired a new member, Mang (we call him Lan nowadays) which eventually became the main instigator of Modar’s future activities. Man was from a band called Bota & Orion in Kuala Terengganu and when he became a member of Modar, he handled the vocals duties. From that day, Modar has started playing death metal taking Death as their main influence. Around April 1991, Tok Ari & Lan decided to do something else and left Modar. Man & Nusi tried out Imi (Bass) and Zombie (Drums), unfortunately they did not work out good. Later they found Bujal (Drums) and Nusi switched his position to bass. At this moment, they changed their band’s name to Demori & recorded a demo tape titled “Victims of the Rule” which consists of 4 songs. This demo never made available to the public and later was accidentally destroyed be Man. Then, the band begun to find their own identity & sound and started to play their own interpretation of Doom. In August 1991, Tok Ari rejoined the band on lead guitar and the band reverted to their previous band name, Modar. This lineup got their first performance at the town’s bus station & able to record a demo called “Inferior Symphony” with 4 songs included. Man opened his own studio called “Neutral Music Studio” and practically the band sleep, eat and jam at the studio every night. They even jam with the lights out except a couple of candles to catch the atmosphere. Around September 1991, Tok Ari left the band again and was replaced by Joe (Bass) and Nusi moved back to playing rhythm & vocals. In the early 1992, the band went to KL and recorded a proper demo which consist 10 songs at Hellions Studio. When the band returned to their hometown, he decided not to sell to demo because the recording doesn’t represent the sound they were aiming for.

Hails from the land of the Headhunters, Sarawak (Malaysian Borneo), MENTALLY MURDERED was formerly known as IMMORTAL (1989 - 1992). During the IMMORTAL days, the line up were Churchill (Guitar/Vocals), Mason (Guitar), Rosli (Bass) and Nicholas (Drums) and they've released three demos namely "The Avenger Of Blood" (1990), "Immortal Bestiality" (1991 with Lie Illemauzer on Bass) and "Environmentally Unsafe" (1992 - line up Alex Jayson on Vocals, Churchill on Guitar, Romeo on Bass and Boi Billy on Drums). Due to similarity to a Norwegian black metal band, they changed the name to PERMANENT HEAD DAMAGE (end of 1992) with new line up (Churchill on Bass/Vocals, Bob Pyewhackett on Guitar and Nicholas on Drums). 1995 sees changes in line up again as Boy Aseng takes on Vocals, Churchill on Guitar, Myan on Bass and Matt on Drums. They released another demo entitled "New World Sickness". This line up lasts only a few years as in 2003 Nin Sky joined on Guitar, Alex Jayson on Vocals, Churchill on Guitar, Sony Dohe on Bass and Boi Billy on Drums. They also change the name to MENTALLY MURDERED. However James replaced Nin Sky on Guitar, Bryan replaced Sony Dohe on Bass and Richie replaced Boi Billy on Drums in 2004. With this line up they released a Self-Titled demo. Late 2004 Alex Jayson decided to form his own band and MENTALLY MURDERED was inactive for almost a year. After several times of becoming sessions for MENTALLY MURDERED, Victor decided to join them permanently. So the current line up is Churchill (Guitar), Richie (Drums), Bryan (Guitar/Vocals) and Victor (Bass). Since 1989, they've joined lots of gigs with other bands namely VORMIT, SENSELESS, UNGODLY DEATH, BLOCKHEAD (RIP), SPUTUM, SHAMANIC RITES, ANTACID, SIL KHANNAZ and lots of the other underground bands to name a few. MANGGAS was formed around 1998, and they are Bataris Sangpi handling the drums, C6 hit the bass, Mi with the guitar and Joad playing the guitar and singing. Influence a lot by their ancestor and kuno believer in particular, both thru' music and lyrics. With this line up, in 1999, they've recorded their first demo entitled "Pengamal Ilmu Kebatinan Kuno" which gained a wide response from local scene (especially Sabah scene). Recorded somewhere in Membakut and contains only two songs which will bleed your body from inside. The demo hits the street and sold out in a short time, and there are still demands on it. THE EARLY YEARS (White Cross and War Cry) Paul Speckmann was born on September the 28th, 1963, in the North-West suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. From an early age, he dreamed of playing music, more specifically Rock ‘n’ Roll. Originally, he was inspired by the heavy sounds of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin, among others. At age 16, Speckmann discoverd the sweet leaf a.k.a. cannabis, which he would reguarly smoke while listening to the aforementioned groups. One day, while walking the halls of Forest View High School (Arlington Heights, Illinois), Speckmann was approached by Ronald Cooke, as Cooke had heard him singing “All Good People” by prog-rock group, Yes. Ron Cooke was a guitarist in the band White Cross, and asked Speckmann to audition as singer. Speckmann agreed and, after a rather shaky audition, he soon joined the fledgling band. White Cross was mostly an all-covers band, performing songs by Sabbath, UFO, Ted Nugent and Thin Lizzy. Trying his best, Speckmann found encouragement as girls at school now looked at him in a new light. During the first year in White Cross, Speckmann began to take a serious interest in the bass guitar, something which had caught his attention since he was a child. Upon mentioning this to his band members in White Cross, and his friends, Speckmann was greeted with laughter and told that he would never be able to play. Determined to prove them wrong, Speckmann searched for a bass guitar. Around this time, he quit White Cross too, possibly because he realized they would never get anywhere just playing covers. (On a side note, after White Cross, guitarist Ron Cooke joined a band called Thrust, a heavy metal group in the Priest/Maiden-style, but they never achieved any major success, despite putting out one album and a split live LP with fellow Chicago act, Lazer). Eventually, Speckmann found a bass guitar, in the form of a cheap Epiphone, only costing around thirty dollars. (Funnily enough, future bass player for Trouble, Sean McCallister, had originally intended to buy the bass, and was upset that Speckmann got there first. McCallister would get his chance though.) One day, while walking home from his latest “female conquest”, Speckmann bumped into an old friend from grade school and Cub Scouts, Steve Ahlers. Steve revealed that he was learning to play guitar, and Speckmann mentioned his interest in the bass. The two began practicing on a regular basis, as they were both fans of the same heavy metal groups. Still in high school, Speckmann met Marty Fitzgerald, a guitar player, in addition to being a year older than Speckmann. Both being passionate fans of metal, they agreed to form a band, along with Speckmann’s friend Steve Ahlers. Such was their passion, that Fitzgerald dropped out of high school his senior year, and Speckmann followed suit, dropping out in his junior year. They both promised to start jamming together every day. Unfortunately, both their parents forced them to get jobs. Not phased by this, Fitzgerald and Speckmann began jamming a few nights a week (along with Ahlers). Read more about the history of MASTER on their website.

History recalled, Fractured was formed somewhere in 2002/2003 after the band Mental Phobia (Karl (b/v), Syaari (2nd g), Dept (1st g) & Fahmi (d)) broke up. 2 of the ex-Mental Phobia, good friends Syaari & Fahmi started working on new materials, going more towards Gothenburg / Swedish sound of extreme metal like At The Gates & Dimension Zero instead of the brutal death sound they have been in Mental Phobia. Not long after that, Farouk left Fractured fer personal reasons and was replaced with Angah to fill the bass guitar’s spot. After completing 4 their own materials, Fractured released a demo album named “Archgates Of Insanity” in 2004. With limited budget, only 100 copies of the demo album was produced. The most critics heard was the about the sound of the demo. After putting on a few shows locally, Syaari, the founding member of Fractured left the band to pursue his career. With the band without a vocalist and 2nd guitar, Fractured turn to Fahmi’s project band AngelClaw (Karl (b/v), Nuar (1st g), Bobi (2nd g) & Fahmi (d)) and approached Karl who was also an ex-Mental Phobia to fill the empty slot left by Syaari. Karl agreed and Fractured reshuffled their lineup with a few positions changed reflecting the current positions. The lineup stays until now. Now Fractured still plays in local gigs although not frequently. Still considered unknown to the local metalheads, Fractured have completed a few more new songs and will hopefully go in a studio to record a debut full-length album. Only time (and money) will tell.
